A question arrived asking why the homepage’s videos had disappeared. The July 30 record does not begin with another collection or recovery run. It first inspects the prominent homepage title, list order and an article’s embed marker, narrowing the location of the symptom.
The response places newly published guides in the lead and early list positions. An embed marker remains in one inspected article. I do not extend that to proof that every video was intact. The supported finding is that the homepage’s selection rule placed fresh guides ahead of the video-news entrance the reader expected.
Agree on which screen the missing item belongs to
The homepage, a list card, an article and its player are different display stages even when they connect through the same data. Changing a player’s original source because a homepage item is not visible can modify the wrong part of the flow. Identify the address, region and expected result first.
For reproduction, record the expected title, image and video region and compare the response. A reader’s word everything should not automatically define the inspection’s scope. A marker in one article supports that inspected item, not every unexamined video.
New publication changed the first screen’s role
The historical homepage query selected published articles in descending publication time. Guides met that condition too, allowing a newly published explanation to become the lead. The ordering behaved as configured while its result diverged from the expected video-oriented entrance.
The edit added an EXPLAINED exclusion to the homepage news selection. The subsequent response shows a news headline as the lead, with the historical check output retained. It did not delete guides or recollect videos. Retaining material and choosing its first-screen role were separate responsibilities.
Inspect selection before expanding collection
On another site, a fresh announcement or manual can displace a previous feature too. After checking source presence, inspect state, category, ordering and visible limits to narrow where an item left the screen. Adding more data does not necessarily restore the display’s purpose.
The explanatory conditions below generalize the change without reconstructing the database or ORM. Choose excluded categories and their remaining routes against your readers’ questions. This project’s EXPLAINED value is not a universal category to remove from other websites.

→ keep records whose state is published
→ apply this homepage lane’s category policy
→ order by publication time
→ take the visible limit
Keep excluded-but-public guides accessible in their own route.Correct ordering did not answer the image request
The next request asked for an actual video view at the entrance. List order alone did not address it. Historical edits link representative thumbnails to article data and use them on the homepage, related lists and sharing metadata. Selection and visual assets were separate issues within the same sequence.
I also separate an image appearing from a player working. Linking a thumbnail does not establish audio, playback or transitions. Each promise made by the interface needs its own evidence and remaining checks.
Compare the changed response with the original question
The retained results show the news headline after the category change and six homepage thumbnails after image linkage. That is a result from the historical inspection. It is not a statement that the present website always has six videos or that every playback environment works.
A real integration should continue from the homepage feature into the article, run its player, then return to the list. Separately check that material excluded from one selection remains public at its own route. Fixing a display rule should not unintentionally remove another public path.
Record a cause narrower than the symptom
This is not a recovery claim about the deletion of all videos. It connects actual edits for classification and latest-first selection with the subsequent image request. I keep the recorded cause within the scope that those inputs and responses establish.
Source absence, ingestion gaps, classification, list limits, asset linkage and playback failure should remain distinct states. Each can require further evidence. Recording the change together with its altered response lets another maker investigate a similar symptom without assuming the same cause.
