A repeated report said the uppermost homepage video left space on its left. The request recorded early on August 5 in Korea even asked whether the phone was at fault. Reading the record, I would first align on the exact region the user sees, rather than treating a reassuring development view as the answer.

The changes did not end with choosing one calculation. They inspect the homepage, article and subject-page wrappers, their parent spacing, media conditions and delivered files. Later that morning in Korea the user reported that it worked. I read the sequence alongside the remaining limits of its diagnosis.

Different containers sat beneath the same word video

The location needed to be clarified as the video at the top of the homepage. Similar-looking players elsewhere did not necessarily use the same CSS conditions. The historical work separately examines the lead, article and artist-hub wrappers.

I would record the address, whether the region is at the entrance or within text, orientation and browser environment. That keeps a fix in another region from being reported as resolution of the same symptom. When someone starts doubting the device, confirm that both sides are still discussing the same place.

The content breakpoint and video spacing condition differed

The edit identifies a mismatch between the homepage’s single-column range and the media condition removing video spacing. The older video condition ended at 768 pixels while the single-column homepage continued to 980. At intervening widths, the homepage lead could retain parent spacing under a different rule from other pages.

This is a comparison of conditions in one layout. Read the actual parent dimensions and applied rule rather than inferring one width from a device name. Track column changes separately from edge expansion to identify the interval producing the gap.

A calculation change differed from a delivered-file check

The retained sequence replaces viewport-based calculations with parent-spacing values, then uses explicit negative left and right pixel margins. The later edits handle 14-pixel spacing in one range and 20-pixel spacing in another. One observed value need not match every parent at every width.

Outputs separately inspect the CSS version referenced by HTML and the deployed rules. Saving a file and delivering that file to the reader are different states. Delivery is also separate from the final phone view: correct source delivery alone does not establish the player’s visible edge alignment.

The historical cause comment is not a universal rule

A later code comment attributes unexpected calculation behavior to a particular in-app WebView. The available evidence here is the comment, changes, delivery outputs and user confirmation. I have not inspected an independent engine-support trace. It cannot establish that calc or logical properties fail in every in-app browser.

I separate the workaround from a proven mechanism. The choice to use simpler values for that environment can be described without turning it into a general compatibility conclusion. Another site needs its parent spacing, applied style and actual device checked again.

Carry the parent relationship instead of copying a number

The new LTR CSS below illustrates the relationship between parent padding and the video margin. It is not the original complete stylesheet or a fresh device-test result. It assumes matching parent values and still requires inspection of nested spacing, width constraints and overflow.

The useful record is more than minus fourteen. State where the element sits, which parent value it offsets at which width and whether that condition belongs on another page. Hiding document overflow to conceal the symptom should not substitute for checking the source of the gap.

Explore the implementation

New explanatory LTR CSS; compare actual parent spacing, width and overflow before integration.

/* Explanatory LTR example: these values must match the parent's actual padding. */
@media (max-width: 760px) {
  .content-shell { padding-left:14px; padding-right:14px; }
  .edge-video { margin-left:-14px; margin-right:-14px; }
}
/* Re-evaluate the parent, breakpoint and other overflow before integration. */

Retain who confirmed the result and when

The later August 5 morning message in Korea says it now works, then raises a different navigation-position problem. I read it as that user’s historical screen confirmation. It does not establish a fresh review on every current phone or certify the entire original stylesheet.

In another task, connect the failed real-device view, attempted changes, delivered file and recheck of the same region. A narrow desktop window remains useful without replacing every environment where a user saw a failure. Keep the stated resolution within the scope actually confirmed.
