While applying a shared structure to several property websites, I once treated a template name in the configuration as proof that the requested design was already present. The correction was clear: the project names were right, the design was different, and the animation had not been applied. I had treated replacing the project material and transferring the screen structure as the same task.
I have now compared the original conversation, repair notes and actual execution output. The important failure was a skipped chain of checks. A customer cannot see that chain inside the working folder, so the maker needs to explain precisely what an assurance of “applied” covers.
One label covered different page structures
The records distinguish a card-based reconstruction from the reference structure with its original screen transitions. They carried a related template label, but their generated page structure and transition code differed. Correct text and photographs did not establish the order of scenes, the way scrolling moved between them or the behavior of appearing elements.
A useful comparison therefore needs smaller questions. What follows the opening scene? Where does the selected plan appear? Which screen does a menu open? Which component controls scrolling and transitions? The template name can help locate a reference; it cannot answer those questions. This matters especially when a rebuilt design resembles the reference in color while behaving differently.
Restoring a layout also means preserving project material
The repair notes describe restoring the reference layout and motion while preserving existing plans, inquiry forms and contact settings. Resetting those project values would create a second problem while fixing the first. I separate the parts that need restoration from the parts that must survive it. That boundary comes before adding a familiar logo or headline.
Visitors do more than inspect the opening photograph. They choose a plan, navigate to details and look for a way to contact someone. I therefore compare visible composition, interaction connections, actual material and inquiry destinations separately. A shared structure is useful only when changing it does not silently replace values belonging to a particular customer.
Keep the failed check beside the later passing check
An actual execution output shows an initial assertion failure. A later output records passing source checks for eight sites and explicitly says that browser review had not been performed and deployment had not occurred. Keeping only the successful sentence would erase the path by which the mistaken judgment was narrowed and repaired.
Later records broaden the scope to nine restored sites and forty-four that already used the reference structure. That is a different stage from the initial eight-site check. I keep the time and population attached to each result: newly restored sites and existing conforming sites are not the same work. A larger later count does not turn the earlier failure into an imaginary one.
Connected code and observed behavior are separate evidence
The historical source checks covered such items as structure, transition-code connections, script parsing and local responses. They do not establish that every desktop and phone interaction looked natural. The supplied archive also excludes the pixels of the original attached photographs. This article reports a comparison of records, not a fresh visual inspection of the original customer websites.
For a visual comparison I would align the scroll position, selected menu and selected plan, then examine the same moment in the transition. Comparing one page at the top with another halfway down can confuse a state difference with a layout difference. A moving website needs both its resting view and its actual interaction examined; a screenshot and the presence of a script provide only parts of that evidence.
A customer can ask for the scope of “applied”
When I say a template has been applied, the useful follow-up is what was checked: its label, the generated structure and connected scripts, preservation of customer material, observed browser behavior or delivery to the server. A customer does not need internal filenames to ask those questions. Each answer should identify its actual evidence and any remaining check.
A design reference is also more actionable when it describes the reading and navigation flow, rather than only a color or photograph. The maker can turn that flow into comparable observations. I am using this mistake to make completion reports more precise: a shared name begins the inspection, while the resulting page and its behavior determine whether the requested work has been done.
