A good reference screen can inform many production decisions. Transferring its company copy, achievements and imagery can still conflict with the new business. I reread service guidance and comparison records to distinguish studied structure from content that needs new authorship.
Current guidance uses a large hero, alternating surfaces and content density as structural references while excluding transferred branding, claims, copy and assets. A faithful comparison copy remains a separate record of its original source. This article explains how the reference is developed into decisions for a new website.
Read the question served by each section
Go beyond the location of a large photograph or card grid. Ask whether a section introduces the business, compares services, explains use or leads to a request. That interprets visible sequence through the role of its information.
Current service source places the work process immediately after the opening and connects the primary action to it. That follows the request for ordinary readers to understand the work. The new visitor’s required explanation comes before mechanical transfer of every reference section.
Reconsider rhythm and density against the new material
Spacing, large headings and light-dark changes can be studied as reading rhythm. New explanations may be longer or serve different purposes, making identical heights and card counts inappropriate. I establish which material should receive comparable emphasis.
Current guidance also distinguishes the selected concept’s tone from the structural reference. That identifies which criterion concerns sequence and which concerns atmosphere. Criteria serving different purposes should not all be forced into every condition of one screen.
Rewrite copy from actual work and conditions
Replacing an industry name in a polished reference sentence can retain work the new service does not provide. New copy needs its object, action and evidence boundary established. I examine agreement with facts and customer questions before sentence length.
Examples remain separate from achievements, and unestablished partnerships or awards are not transferred. This website explains AI requests and review alongside actual access and verification conditions. An attractive introduction should remain within the service boundary.
Distinguish collected originals from modified work
Comparison records preserve original assets and screen states locally. That is evidence for comparison, not evidence that the original design was created from scratch by me. Provenance stays separate from newly authored or modified work.
This article and new public examples do not transfer the original business name, address or imagery. Possession of collected files does not establish their suitability for a new public site. Connect separately reviewed material while retaining original provenance privately.
Compare aligned states and explain intentional differences
The comparison document records slides and menu states alongside viewport size. That avoids turning a transitional capture into a static design rule. Preservation compares real screens in aligned states; new composition also explains the reasons for changed content.
New buttons and detailed explanations need to serve their actual purpose. A form visible in a reference does not establish input, persistence or contact functionality. Visual criteria and operational verification are connected but remain distinct checks.
Record how the reference becomes a method
The article draws on current guidance and source, human request passages and historical comparison records. It does not grant new asset rights or report new desktop and mobile comparisons. Provenance and new synthesis remain distinguished.
The know-how I want to preserve concerns why I read a screen that way and which conditions changed, rather than a list of attractive references. Another website needs the decision revisited against different questions and material. Understanding structure and explaining new content makes the method reusable.
