When a team project appears in a personal portfolio, your part in it should be readable beside the project name. A prospective client needs to judge whether you can handle the work they want to commission, as well as understand the project you joined.
I inspected the data and view code produced for a personalized profile. They brought services and production notes into one introduction, but a team’s scope still needed to be distinguished from an individual’s contribution. The implemented labels and the copy suggestions below are described separately.
Let visitors begin with the work they need
The inspected profile offers 5 fields: web and service development, business automation and ERP, research and data search, content and SEO/GEO, and design and branding. A work item can belong to several fields. Building an information service, for example, can involve both web development and research.
I read this as a way to let visitors browse without first recognizing every brand. I found no user-study evidence that it improved understanding or increased enquiries. Nor should an item appearing in several fields be counted as several separate deliveries.
Place the kind of work and the role on each card
Each work item has a kind, such as team project, production notes or technical content, and a role description. The view places the kind above the title and the role beneath the tags. It explains near the list that team projects were collaborative work. These labels help visitors distinguish a service from an article about making it.
These labels do not establish an individual’s exact contribution. Some inspected role descriptions remain broad, such as team work involving content, web structure and enquiry connections. They describe the team’s scope without identifying which part one person did. If evidence of individual responsibility is absent, a claim of sole ownership from planning through operation should not fill the gap.
Name what the linked material lets a visitor inspect
The link destinations differ too. Team-project cards lead to services, production notes to accounts of the work, and technical content to methods and examples. Labels such as view the site and read the production process explain the purpose of the next page.
Opening a service shows its screen, not who built each function or what operational results followed. A production note needs the same comparison between the method described and the work performed. Place evidence beside a role claim, and limit the claim to what that material can establish.
The earlier inventory report also distinguished sites—including production versions, proposals, mirrors and older versions—from client deliveries and people. Explicit samples were kept separate from actual staff and delivered work. Adding useful material to a profile need not increase its claimed number of projects.
An example of a more specific role description
The following copy is an independent example. It does not identify a contributor or reproduce an actual assignment from the source project. It shows how to narrow a role without adding an unverified outcome.
- Kind: team project
- Contribution: designed the enquiry form’s guidance and input sequence
- Material to inspect: a publishable explanation of the screen and change records
- Still unverified: actual email receipt and operational impact
Carry the selected field into the enquiry
The inspected profile includes the selected field in the email subject and body. Its prompt asks about the work needed, the intended schedule, and the people and roles involved. Someone beginning an enquiry can carry over the field they already selected. The link requests email composition; I did not test sending or receiving a message.
Begin with a representative card: write its kind, your role and the linked material side by side. Narrow any description that makes the team’s total scope sound like your individual contribution. If individual responsibility is unverified, keep the team-work label. Check this before refining the title and imagery.
For this article I read profile code, existing test definitions and work and review records. I did not rerun the service tests or browser interactions, establish individual contributions, test email receipt or measure customer response. Existing assertions check properties including role-text length, addresses and classification. Such checks do not establish who did the work.
