A review model naming a dangerous boundary can make immediate editing feel necessary. A specific claim still differs from a defect in the actual code. One kernel-start review missed an existing cancellation guard, so the record added a targeted delayed-boundary test before making another product change.

Break the initial claim into its proposed failure order

The proposed race was shutdown arriving while kernel startup awaited named-pipe listen, followed by a late controller spawn after listen completed. The initial response held the E07 start path because it did not see a cancellation check after listen. Its positive judgments on other paths and its installation hold were preserved in the same record.

That is a useful boundary question, but absence of the guard is a premise to verify in source. An error label or confident wording should not trigger changes to already-checked behavior. The investigation first locates the exact await boundaries and the point before spawn, separating a plausible scenario from evidence that the implementation permits it.

Do not report an existing condition as a new fix

The historical report states that the same-SHA code from the initial review already checked cancelled and closed the server immediately after listen. The current function also shows that check between awaited listen and child startup. Current source inspection and the historical same-SHA record remain distinct evidence.

The response was not dismissed merely by saying the model was wrong. The boundary still deserved a more direct test without another product patch. Rewriting an existing guard and counting it as a new fix would obscure what improved. Here the addition was evidence for a previously under-tested boundary, not a newly invented product guard.

Delay real listen completion and insert shutdown

The historical owned test held listen-callback completion after the pipe connected, requested shutdown before kernel assignment, and released the callback. Source and packaged runs checked for no late controller spawn and no listening server left behind. This exercises the proposed order more directly than reading the guard statement alone.

Records retain nonexecution of the cell and bounded confirmation of real process cleanup. Abnormal kernel exit and clean-kernel reuse are separate cases. One true answer cannot certify all of them automatically. Each needs the actual sequence exercised and the absence of its specific unwanted side effect.

Keep the initial answer alongside the follow-up

After additional evidence, the follow-up accepted the boundary and readiness for local installation. Both the initial false and later true remain. The account does not pretend the model was correct in one pass; it records what extra reading and testing changed the assessment.

The output is generated judgment, not a probability, measured accuracy or program-wide error-free certification. For this article I read saved judgments, reports and the related source range without sending a new review request. Historical tool completion and this current evidence review are not counted as the same execution.

Judgment forms a question and execution narrows the answer

A model claim can reveal a boundary worth investigating, and source plus counterexamples can revise the claim's premise. Neither should replace checking whether function, failure order and observed result agree. A small amount of product editing does not mean little verification occurred.

The shared structural-report module can describe such events in bounded fields but substitutes for neither judgment nor repair. I record a maker's preference for avoiding unnecessary edits and preserving precisely checked boundaries over claiming the speed of immediately fixing every model-reported error. Another reviewer should be able to revisit the conclusion from the same evidence.
